Worktop repair in Kenny Hill

How we handle worktop repair in Kenny Hill

Different worktops need different repairs: we fill and pattern laminate, fill and polish quartz and stone, and sand and refinish wood. We always aim for a repair that blends in. We’re often asked to fix gouges in the surface and damage to a stone worktop, across quartz, laminate and solid surface (such as Corian).

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

Your questions about worktop repair in Kenny Hill

Do you cover the whole of Suffolk?

We cover the whole UK, including Kenny Hill and the rest of Suffolk. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.

What do you need from me?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Can you match granite flecks?

Colour, flecks and veins are recreated by hand, so the repair blends into the surface.

Should you replace it?

Even if you could get the same laminate, it may not match after years of light and use. A repair is matched to what you have now. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why us?

  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish

Repairs by material

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface bonded to a board. Damage is filled and the pattern painted in by hand.

Solid surface

Solid surface materials are uniform throughout, so scratches and burns can often be sanded out and refinished.

How it works

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a few hours, depending on the damage, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First we look at the damage and what the worktop is made of.
  2. We clean the area and prepare the edges of the damage.
  3. A filler that suits the material goes in, and missing edges are rebuilt.
  4. The colour and pattern are matched by hand.
  5. The surface is sealed or finished to suit the worktop.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

DIY repairs versus a professional job

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Kenny Hill use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it typically costs far less than a refit.
