Worktop repair in Ludham

About our worktop repair in Ludham

A damaged worktop does not have to mean a new kitchen. We fill and refinish the damage to blend into the surface around it. Common call-outs are for a damaged sink edge and chips in quartz or granite, across granite & marble, solid wood and laminate.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back.

Keeping it looking good

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Re-oil timber worktops
  • Dry around the sink and joints
  • Take care with heavy pans near edges
  • Don’t cut directly on the worktop

Wipe water away from joints and around the sink, particularly with laminate and timber.

Daily use can make burns and chips worse particularly around the sink. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.

Repairs by material

Solid surface

Solid surface materials are uniform throughout, so marks can frequently be sanded and refinished.

Quartz

Quartz worktops are mostly stone set in resin. We fill and polish chipped edges to match the sheen.

What we can’t put right

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Laminate swollen by water from underneath
  • A top that moves on its units
  • Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Quartz
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Laminate
  • Solid wood
  • Granite & marble

DIY kit or professional repair?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What happens on the day

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Plan for a morning or an afternoon. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We start by checking the damage and the worktop material.
  2. We clean the area and prepare the edges of the damage.
  3. We fill the damage with a suitable filler and build up any lost edge.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The surface is sealed or finished to suit the worktop.

Before we arrive

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Questions from Ludham

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

Can you match granite flecks?

Yes. We recreate the pattern by hand so it blends in.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Are there extra charges for Ludham?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Do you work in Ludham?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Ludham and the rest of Norfolk. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Do you repair quartz?

Yes. We match the colour and polish the repair.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.

Do you need worktop repair in Ludham?

Around the sink, water gets into joints on laminate and wood, and that can make them swell.

Look out for any of the following:

  • Scratches and knife marks
  • A chipped quartz edge
  • Snagging damage in a new kitchen
  • Scorch marks from pans

Questions to ask before you book

  • When it can be used again
  • Who turns up on the day
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long

How to compare quotes

Should you replace it?

Stone and quartz tops are templated and cut to fit, so replacing one section is a big job. Repairing it is a few hours’ work. Our worktop repair starts from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

How we price worktop repair

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material and finish
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How much damage there is

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

How to get a fixed quote

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • One picture of the entire worktop
  • The material, if you know it
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole worktop, we can price the job the same day in most cases.
