Worktop repair at your home in Monreith
A new worktop rarely matches the old one, especially in an L-shaped or long kitchen. Repairing the damage keeps your kitchen as it is. Common call-outs are for burns from hot pans and a dent from a dropped pan, across solid surface (such as Corian), laminate and granite & marble.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re covered after the visit.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Laminate
Laminate is a printed surface over a board. We fill the damage and recreate the pattern by hand.
Granite and stone
Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

Aftercare tips
Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:
- Use a chopping board
- Oil wooden tops regularly
- Never put hot pans down directly
- Steer clear of strong cleaners
Never put hot pans straight onto the worktop. Heat can mark quartz and stone as well.
Daily use can make burns and chips worse. An earlier repair is a smaller repair.

The process
There is not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to a few hours, depending on the damage, including clearing up.
- We start by checking the damage and the worktop material.
- The area is cleaned and the edges of the damage prepared.
- We fill the damage with a suitable filler and build up any lost edge.
- We match the colour and pattern by hand.
- We seal or finish the surface to suit the worktop.
Getting ready for the visit
- Clear the area around the damage
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Let us know which floor the room is on

Advice
Repair or replace: which is better?
Swollen or badly damaged laminate may need replacing. For chips, burns and scratches, repair is generally far better value. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- The material
- How many items we do on one visit
- Unusual colours or finishes
The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking.
Send photos for a quote
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- The material, if you know it

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
