Worktop repair near Moreton

Different materials, different repairs

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface over a board. We fill the damage and recreate the pattern.

Solid surface

Solid surface materials are uniform throughout, so marks can frequently be sanded and refinished.

Worktop repair at your home in Moreton

The hard part of a worktop repair is matching the pattern. Colour, flecks and veining are recreated by hand so the repair blends in. Typical jobs include a heat mark or burn and damage around the sink cut-out, on quartz, granite & marble and solid surface (such as Corian).

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after the visit.

Questions from Moreton

Is there a call-out fee?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Can you quote from pictures?

In nearly every case. If photos don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Do you work in Moreton?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Moreton and the rest of Wirral. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is there any odour?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

Can you repair a burn in a worktop?

Generally. Send us a photo and we’ll tell you.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

How much do I need to move?

Only around the repair. You can generally still use the rest of the kitchen.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

Looking after it afterwards

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Re-oil timber worktops
  • Do not knock pans against the edge
  • Clean spills immediately
  • Use a chopping board

Wipe water away from joints and around the sink, especially on laminate and wood.

Daily use can make burns and chips worse particularly around the sink. Repairing it sooner keeps the job smaller.

Signs you need worktop repair in Moreton

The worst damage often happens in a moment: a hot pan put down without a trivet, or a heavy pan knocked against the edge. Scratches build up more slowly, from knives and grit.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • A damaged sink edge
  • Chipped corners
  • Burns from hot pans
  • Chips caused during installation

What your quote should include

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How to look after the finish
  • Who turns up on the day
  • Whether they match the colour on site

10 questions to ask before you book

What a repair cannot fix

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Failed support under the worktop
  • Severe heat marks in quartz
  • Water-swollen laminate

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Laminate
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Granite & marble
  • Solid wood
  • Quartz

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Why repair rather than replace?

Even if you could get the same laminate, it may not match after years of light and use. We match the repair to your worktop as it is today. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

What you get with us

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing

How the visit works

We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take a few hours, depending on the damage, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First, we check the damage and the finish we need to match.
  2. Burnt or loose material is cut back.
  3. The area is filled and shaped.
  4. The pattern, flecks or grain are recreated.
  5. It’s finished to the same sheen and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
