Worktop repair in New Passage, done in place
A damaged worktop doesn’t have to mean a new kitchen. The damage is filled and refinished so it blends into the pattern. We work on granite & marble, solid wood and quartz, and people most often call us about dents and gouges and a chipped edge.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Different materials, different repairs
Granite and stone
Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.
Quartz
Quartz is hard, but its edges are brittle. Chips are filled with tinted resin and polished.

When a repair is not the answer
To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:
- Cracks right through stone that has moved
- Laminate swollen by water from underneath
- A worktop that has moved because its support has failed
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
What we work on
- Laminate
- Granite & marble
- Quartz
- Solid surface (such as Corian)
- Solid wood
How to care for the repair
Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:
- Use pH-neutral cleaners on stone
- Watch the edges with heavy pans
- Keep a trivet by the hob
- Do not cut directly on the worktop
Leave the repaired area free of hot or heavy items until it has cured. After that, trivets and chopping boards protect it best.
Damage near the sink is worth repairing quickly, because water gets in and swells the board.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.
Repair or replace: which is better?
Even a single new length of worktop means templating, cutting and refitting the sink and hob. A repair is a few hours with everything left in place. Our worktop repair starts from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for New Passage. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Work for landlords and builders
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in New Passage as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it normally costs far less than a refit.
The process
Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Allow a few hours. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and how to look after it.
- First we look at the damage and what the worktop is made of.
- We clean the area and prepare the edges of the damage.
- We fill the damage with a suitable filler and build up any lost edge.
- We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
- The surface is sealed or finished to suit the worktop.
Preparing for the visit
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Clear the area around the damage
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
Getting a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole worktop, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Your questions about worktop repair in New Passage
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
Are you accredited?
We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.
Do the materials smell?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.
Is the work guaranteed?
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.
Can you repair a burn in a worktop?
Typically. Send us a picture and we will tell you.
Do you repair quartz?
Yes. We repair quartz chips regularly, matched and polished.
Will you leave a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.
