How we handle worktop repair in New York
Matching a pattern is the skilled part of a worktop repair. Colour, flecks and veining are recreated by hand. We are frequently asked to fix knife marks and a damaged sink edge, in laminate, solid surface (such as Corian) and granite & marble.
We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Should you replace it?
Even if you could get the same laminate, it may not match after years of light and use. A repair is matched to what you have now. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

Honest limits
We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- Deep heat discolouration in quartz, which may not fully disappear
- Laminate that has blown or swollen
- A worktop that has moved because its support has failed
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Materials we repair
- Laminate
- Quartz
- Solid surface (such as Corian)

What your worktop is made of matters
Solid surface
Solid surface materials are uniform throughout, so marks can frequently be sanded and refinished.
Laminate
Laminate is a printed surface bonded to a board. Damage is filled and the pattern painted in by hand.

How to care for the repair
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Keep a trivet by the hob
- Don’t leave spills to soak in
- Chopping boards prevent scratches
- Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz
Keep joints and the sink edge dry, particularly with laminate and timber.
A burn or chip can get worse with daily use particularly around the sink. Repairing it sooner keeps the job smaller.
DIY kit or professional repair?
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
What we’re called out for in New York
Around the sink, water gets into joints on laminate and wood, and that can make them swell.
Most people contact us when they notice something like this:
- Scorch marks from pans
- A chipped edge
- Knife marks
- A damaged sink edge
What your quote should include
- How changes to the job are handled
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- What protection goes down before work starts
For landlords and businesses
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
