Worktop repair in Pennsylvania, done in place
Each type of worktop needs a different approach: we fill and pattern laminate, fill and polish quartz and stone, and sand and refinish wood. We always aim for a repair that blends in. We regularly repair granite & marble, solid wood and solid surface (such as Corian), and common reasons people contact us are scratches and knife marks and a chipped quartz edge.
Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Pennsylvania and across Devon.

Repair or replace: which is better?
Even if you could get the same laminate, it may not match after years of light and use. A repair is matched to what you have now. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Questions from Pennsylvania
Do I need to empty the worktop?
Only around the repair. The rest of the kitchen stays usable.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.
Do you cover the whole of Devon?
We cover the entire UK, including Pennsylvania and the rest of Devon. Send your postcode with your photos and we will offer you dates.
Do you charge for travel?
No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Do you work in Pennsylvania?
Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Pennsylvania from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
Is a repair better than a new one?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
Signs you need worktop repair in Pennsylvania
Most worktop damage takes a second: a hot pan set straight down, or a heavy pan catching the edge. Scratches build up more slowly, from knives and grit.
You may need us if you’ve spotted:
- A heat mark or burn
- Chips on edges and corners
- Damage to a stone worktop
- Knife marks
Before you book anyone
- Who will actually do the work
- What protection goes down before work starts
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
Honest limits
We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- A cracked stone top that is unsupported
- Severe heat marks in quartz
- Laminate swollen by water from underneath
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.
Materials we repair
- Laminate
- Quartz
- Solid wood
- Solid surface (such as Corian)
- Granite & marble
DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

Keeping it looking good
A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:
- Clean spills straight away
- Don’t knock pans against the edge
- Use pH-neutral cleaners on stone
- Always use a trivet for hot pans
Let the repair cure for the time we give you before putting anything heavy or hot on it. After that, trivets and chopping boards protect it best.
Do not leave damage by the sink, because water gets in and swells the board.
What your worktop is made of matters
Wood
Wooden worktops can be sanded, filled and re-oiled, with burns and dents put right.
Solid surface
Solid surface tops are the same material all the way through, so scratches and burns can often be sanded out and refinished.
For landlords and businesses
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip.
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Pennsylvania use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.
What we do, step by step
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It usually takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We protect the rest of the kitchen.
- The damage is cleaned and any loose material removed.
- We fill it and level it with the worktop.
- We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
- The repair is sealed and polished to match.
Getting ready for the visit
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
