Worktop repair in Rock, done in place
A worktop repair is carried out in your kitchen, with the rest of the kitchen protected. Most repairs take a few hours, and the worktop can be used again soon after. Common call-outs are for a chipped edge and damage to a stone worktop, in solid wood, solid surface (such as Corian) and laminate.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

When a repair isn’t the answer
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- Water-swollen laminate
- A top that moves on its units
- Discolouration deep in quartz
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.
Materials we repair
- Granite & marble
- Quartz
- Solid surface (such as Corian)
- Laminate
- Solid wood
Aftercare tips
Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:
- Re-oil timber worktops
- Keep joints and edges dry
- Steer clear of strong cleaners
- Do not cut directly on the worktop
Always use a trivet and chopping board, wipe up spills promptly, and keep wooden tops oiled.
Damage near the sink is worth repairing quickly, because water gets in and swells the board.

What happens on the day
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, depending on the damage, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We start by checking the damage and the worktop material.
- The area is cleaned and the edges of the damage prepared.
- A filler that suits the material goes in, and missing edges are rebuilt.
- The colour and pattern are matched by hand.
- We seal or finish the surface to suit the worktop.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
Getting a price
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
Advice
How we price worktop repair
Repairs from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Rock. The price reflects:
- Access to the area
- How hard the colour is to match
- How many areas need work
- Whether we combine several jobs
Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.
How to get a fixed price
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Where you are, by postcode
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- The material, if you know it
You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
Your questions about worktop repair in Rock
How quickly can you book me in?
Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.
Do you work in Rock?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Rock and the rest of West Sussex. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
How much does worktop repair cost in Rock?
Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item with your RH20 postcode.
Can a quartz edge be fixed?
Yes, frequently. The repair is colour matched and polished to the quartz’s finish.
What information do you need?
Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
What happens if you find more damage?
The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Rock.
Do you need worktop repair in Rock?
Sink and hob cut-outs are weak points, so cracks and chips frequently start there.
You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:
- A heat mark or burn
- Knife marks
- Chipped corners
- Damage around the sink cut-out
What your quote should include
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
- What preparation is included
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- Who turns up on the day
Why repair rather than replace?
Swollen or badly damaged laminate may need replacing. For chips, burns and scratches, a repair is the better value. Prices start from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Repairs by material
Quartz
Quartz worktops are mostly stone set in resin. We fill and polish chipped edges to match the sheen.
Laminate
A laminate worktop is a thin decorative layer on a board. We fill damage and paint in the pattern by hand.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
