What your worktop is made of matters

Wood

Wooden worktops can be sanded, filled and re-oiled, with burns and dents put right.

Quartz

Quartz worktops are mostly stone set in resin. Edge chips are very common, and we fill and polish them.

FAQs for Rora

Do I need to empty the worktop?

Only the area we are working on. The rest is covered and protected.

How much does worktop repair cost in Rora?

Repairs from £95. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You’ll get a fixed figure before you book.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before and we will plan for it.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Honest limits

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • A top that moves on its units
  • Severe heat marks in quartz

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Quartz
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Laminate
  • Solid wood
  • Granite & marble

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

How it works

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It usually takes a few hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We protect the rest of the kitchen.
  2. The damage is cleaned and any loose material removed.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed and polished to match.

How to prepare

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Aftercare tips

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:

  • Always use a trivet for hot pans
  • Use pH-neutral cleaners on stone
  • Do not leave spills to soak in
  • Don’t cut directly on the worktop

Keep joints and the sink edge dry, especially on laminate and wood.

Damage near the sink is worth repairing quickly, because water gets in and swells the board.

Repairing versus replacing in Rora

If the worktop is swollen by water or badly damaged along its length, replacement may be the answer. For chips, burns and scratches, a repair is the better value. Our worktop repair starts from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What you get with us

What affects the price in Rora

Prices start from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • The material
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Access to the area

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Rora. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

Two or three clear photos are normally enough. Try to include:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • What it’s made of, if you know

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.
