Worktop repair in Salden, done in place

You don’t need a new worktop because of one mark. We fill and refinish the damage to blend into the surface around it. We are often asked to fix gouges in the surface and knife marks, on laminate, granite & marble and quartz.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Do not let water sit on joints
  • Keep a trivet by the hob
  • Do not cut directly on the worktop
  • Wipe up spills quickly

Wipe water away from joints and around the sink, especially on laminate and wood.

Daily use can make burns and chips worse particularly around the sink. Repairing it sooner keeps the job smaller.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swollen or badly damaged laminate may need replacing. For chips, burns and scratches, repair is normally far better value. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

FAQs for Salden

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Salden. Prices don’t change with location.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders in Salden.

How much do I need to move?

Only the area we are working on. The rest is covered and protected.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Do the materials smell?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

How we price worktop repair

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether we combine several jobs

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Getting a price from photos

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

What happens on the day

Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for a morning or an afternoon. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to care for it.

  1. The area around the damage is protected.
  2. The damage is cleaned and any loose material removed.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. The colour and pattern are built up by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed and polished to match.

How to prepare

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Advice

What a repair can’t fix

We will not take on work that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • A worktop that has moved because its support has failed
  • Discolouration deep in quartz

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Laminate
  • Granite & marble
  • Quartz
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Solid wood

Repairs by material

Quartz

Quartz is hard, but its edges are brittle. We fill chips with a tinted resin and polish them.

Laminate

Laminate worktops have a printed decorative layer over a board core. Chips and burns are filled and the pattern recreated.

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
