Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Worktop repair in Sookholme, done in place

Burns from hot pans, chips on edges and scratches from knives make up most of our worktop work. All are repaired in place. Common call-outs are for chips near the sink and scorch marks from pans, across quartz, laminate and solid wood.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

How the visit works

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. First we look at the damage and what the worktop is made of.
  2. The area is cleaned and the edges of the damage prepared.
  3. A filler that suits the material goes in, and missing edges are rebuilt.
  4. We match the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. Finally we seal or finish the area to match.

Preparing for the visit

Different materials, different repairs

Quartz

Quartz is hard, but its edges are brittle. We fill chips with a tinted resin and polish them to the worktop’s finish.

Granite and stone

Granite and stone chip at edges and cut-outs. We fill and polish the repair to match the stone.

Common questions in Sookholme

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Will there be a smell?

Expect a mild smell while we’re working that clears as it cures.

Will the repair match a patterned worktop?

Colour, flecks and veins are recreated by hand, for a repair that blends in.

How do I book?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.

What happens after I send photos?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

Do I need to empty the worktop?

Only around the repair. You can generally still use the rest of the kitchen.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. If pictures do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Should you replace it?

Swollen or badly damaged laminate may need replacing. For chips, burns and scratches, a repair is the better value. Our worktop repair starts from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking.

What you get with us

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

  • Chips near the sink

How to compare quotes

What a repair cannot fix

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Through cracks in stone that is moving
  • Severe heat marks in quartz
  • Failed support under the worktop

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Quartz
  • Solid wood
  • Laminate
  • Granite & marble

How to look after the repair

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Always use a trivet for hot pans
  • Keep wood oiled
  • Do not cut directly on the worktop
  • Dry around the sink and joints

Keep joints and the sink edge dry, especially on laminate and wood.

Don’t leave damage by the sink, because water gets in and swells the board.
