Trusted worktop repair in Stody

Worktop repair in Stody without replacing anything

Each type of worktop needs a different approach: we fill and pattern laminate, fill and polish quartz and stone, and sand and refinish wood. We always aim for a repair that blends in. Our technicians work on solid wood, solid surface (such as Corian) and granite & marble, and the jobs we see most are damage around the sink cut-out and a chipped quartz edge.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Should you replace it?

Stone and quartz have to be templated and cut, so replacing one section is a big job. Repairing it is a few hours’ work. Our worktop repair starts from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Stody. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

What we do, step by step

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for a few hours, depending on the damage. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We assess the damage and the worktop material.
  2. We clean the area and prepare the edges of the damage.
  3. A filler that suits the material goes in, and missing edges are rebuilt.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The surface is sealed or finished to suit the worktop.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

What your worktop is made of matters

Solid surface

Solid surface materials are uniform throughout, so marks can often be sanded and refinished.

Laminate

Laminate is a printed surface over a board. We fill the damage and recreate the pattern.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Wipe up spills quickly
  • Steer clear of strong cleaners
  • Always use a trivet for hot pans
  • Chopping boards prevent scratches

Hot pans should always go on a trivet. Even stone and quartz can be marked by heat.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use. Repairing it sooner keeps the job smaller.

Common questions in Stody

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Which areas do you work in?

All of Norfolk, and the rest of the UK. There’s no extra charge for travel.

Can a quartz edge be fixed?

Yes. The repair is colour matched and polished to the quartz’s finish.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it typically saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Usually, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

What do you need from me?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.

What worktop repair costs

Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The type of damage

Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

How to get a fixed quote

Two or three clear photos are normally enough. Try to include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A wider photo showing the entire worktop

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole worktop, we can price the job without visiting.
