Worktop repair in Swindon, done in place

The hard part of a worktop repair is matching the pattern. Colour, flecks and veining are recreated by hand so the repair blends in. Typical jobs include snagging damage in a new kitchen and scratches and knife marks, across solid wood, laminate and quartz.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

When we would advise against a repair

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Laminate that has blown or swollen
  • A worktop that has moved because its support has failed
  • A cracked stone top that is unsupported

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Landlord and trade work in Swindon

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Even a single new length of worktop means templating, cutting and refitting the sink and hob. A repair takes a few hours and leaves everything in place. Prices start from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How it works

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a few hours. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We start by checking the damage and the worktop material.
  2. Next we clean up and prepare the damaged area.
  3. A filler that suits the material goes in, and missing edges are rebuilt.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. We seal or finish the surface to suit the worktop.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

How to compare quotes

Questions from Swindon

Can you quote from pictures?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

Is a burnt worktop repairable?

Frequently, yes. We remove the damaged surface, fill it and recreate the pattern.

Which areas do you work in?

The whole UK, including all of Dudley. Send your postcode with your photos and we will confirm dates.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Can you match the pattern on my worktop?

We match colour, flecks and veining by hand, for a repair that blends in.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

How to care for the repair

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Take care with heavy pans near edges
  • Steer clear of strong cleaners
  • Always use a trivet for hot pans
  • Don’t leave spills to soak in

Always use a trivet and chopping board, wipe up spills promptly, and re-oil wooden worktops regularly.

A burn or chip can get worse with daily use particularly around the sink. Repairing it sooner keeps the job smaller.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Access to the area
  • How many items we do on one visit

Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Getting a price from photos

You can usually get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A wider photo showing the whole worktop
  • Details of any past repairs

For a price in Swindon, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
