The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, depending on the damage, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We assess the damage and the worktop material.
  2. Next we clean up and prepare the damaged area.
  3. A filler that suits the material goes in, and missing edges are rebuilt.
  4. We recreate the colour and pattern by hand.
  5. The surface is sealed or finished to suit the worktop.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Work for landlords and builders

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Common questions in Uploders

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Can a scorch mark be fixed?

Typically, yes. The burn is cut back, filled and patterned to match.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

Can you quote from pictures?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Do you come to Uploders?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Uploders for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Do you repair quartz?

Yes. Chips on edges and around the sink are very common repairs, filled and polished to match.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many areas need work
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many items we do on one visit

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Uploders. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

Two or three clear photos are typically enough. It helps if you send:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job without visiting.

What we cannot put right

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Through cracks in stone that is moving
  • Laminate swollen by water from underneath
  • Discolouration deep in quartz

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Solid wood
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Granite & marble
  • Quartz
  • Laminate

Should you replace it?

Replacing even one length of worktop means templating, cutting, fitting and frequently a new sink and hob connection. A repair takes a few hours and leaves everything in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why Uploders customers choose us

  • We leave the room as we found it
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Quartz

Quartz is hard, but its edges are brittle. We fill chips with a tinted resin and polish them to the worktop’s finish.

Wood

Wooden worktops can be sanded, filled and re-oiled, and burns and dents repaired.

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Dry around the sink and joints
  • Always use a trivet for hot pans
  • Use a chopping board
  • Watch the edges with heavy pans

Use chopping boards and trivets, wipe up spills promptly, and re-oil wooden worktops regularly.

Daily use can make burns and chips worse. Repairing it sooner keeps the job smaller.
