Bath and surface repairs in East Lothian

How bath repair works in East Lothian

You can usually use the bath the next day. We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. We work on pressed steel enamel, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding, and people most often call us about chips from dropped bottles, tiles or tools and damage caused while the bathroom was being fitted.

Nearly all the chips we see starts with something being dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On steel and cast iron baths, any chip down to the metal will start to rust once water gets in. Acrylic baths, on the other hand, crack when they flex, usually near the taps or the waste.

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job usually takes a morning or an afternoon. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. Once it has cured, usually by the next day, the bath is ready to use.
