Bath re-enamelling near Abergwyngregyn

Bath re-enamelling in Abergwyngregyn, done in place

We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, and we take our time over it. If you’re dealing with a period or roll-top bath worth keeping and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it, we can usually put it right, on basins & shower trays, Victorian roll-tops and cast iron baths alike.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Why repair rather than replace?

A new bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and several days without a working bathroom. Re-enamelling renews the whole surface with the bath left where it is. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Why book with us

  • One price list for the whole UK
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Colour-matched on site

What we do, step by step

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a full day. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

Before we arrive

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

How to get a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

What a repair cannot fix

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, for example:

  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
  • Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
  • A bath that is rusted through

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Acrylic baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Cast iron baths

Can I fix it myself?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

Common questions in Abergwyngregyn

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

Yes, we do this regularly. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.

What does bath re-enamelling cost?

Resurfacing from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Can you make a coloured bath white?

Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.

Will there be a smell?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Conwy and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Abergwyngregyn

Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, lifting by the plughole or blistering. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Worn patches where water runs and sits
  • A roll-top that is seen better days
  • Lots of chips and rust spots
  • A bath in a colour that no longer suits

Before booking anyone

  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Who turns up on the day
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • If travel is included in the price

How to compare quotes

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How much damage there is
  • What the surface is made of

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to get a fixed quote

You can usually get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A photo taken from further back
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.
