Bath re-enamelling at your home in Aldridge

We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. Several coats of finish go on over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. Our technicians work on pressed steel baths, cast iron baths and basins & shower trays, and the jobs we see most are thin, worn enamel in places and a roll-top that’s seen better days.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

What your bath is made of matters

Roll-top and period baths

Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.

Landlord and trade work in Aldridge

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Aldridge: your questions answered

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

In most cases. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

Does re-enamelling smell?

Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the finish cures.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Can you change the colour of my bath?

Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Looking after it afterwards

A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:

  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Never use suction bath mats

Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, especially in hard water areas, so limescale cannot build up.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.

How the visit works

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you’re not left guessing. On site, it takes a full day for most jobs. We leave the room clean and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.

How to prepare

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Repair or replace in Aldridge?

Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. Otherwise, resurfacing usually wins. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What you get with us

  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • No need to remove anything

Take a look at our full price list and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. There is no area surcharge for Aldridge. What changes the price is:

  • The material
  • How much damage there is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The colour and finish to match

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Getting a price from pictures

Phone pictures are fine. Ensure they show:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

What we’re called out for in Aldridge

A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and scrubbing it wears it down further. At that stage, resurfacing is the fix.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • A roll-top that is seen better days
  • A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
  • A coating lifting around the plughole
  • Stains that won’t shift
