Common questions in Ash
What information do you need?
Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire bath and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.
Will the new finish last?
Look after it and it lasts. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.
How quickly can you book me in?
We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.
Does someone need to be in?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.
Will there be a smell?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied. It clears as the materials cure.
What happens after I send pictures?
We look at the photos and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
About our bath re-enamelling in Ash
Resurfacing renews the entire surface of the bath without taking anything out. It’s the answer when the entire bath is tired rather than one spot. We are frequently asked to fix stains that won’t shift and wear marks under the taps, across Victorian roll-tops, acrylic baths and cast iron baths.
Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

What bath re-enamelling costs
Prices start from £350. There is no area surcharge for Ash. The price reflects:
- How many items we do on one visit
- What kind of damage it is
- What the surface is made of
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
How to get a fixed quote
You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Ensure they show:
- Where you are, by postcode
- Any details about the material
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Something in shot to show the size
No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Ash
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Ash as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
Common problems we fix in Ash
A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. That is the point where re-enamelling makes sense.
Look out for these signs:
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
- Staining under the taps and around the waste
- A roll-top that is seen better days
- Lots of chips and rust spots

Why repair rather than replace?
Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.
Why Ash clients choose us
- One price list for the entire UK
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish

- Most jobs done in one visit

Should I try a DIY kit first?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Honest limits
A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:
- Holes rusted through the metal
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.
Surfaces we repair
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
How it works
We turn up when we said we would and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take a full day, and we leave the room as we found it.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
- Once cured, normally by the day after, the bath is ready.
Before we arrive
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
