Bath re-enamelling in Ashendon

Bath re-enamelling in Ashendon, done in place

If your bath is sound but looks tired, re-enamelling is usually the most cost-effective option. There is no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. We work on pressed steel baths, Victorian roll-tops and cast iron baths, and the jobs we see most are a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and an outdated colour you’d like to change.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, and the bath can be used the day after. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why book with us

  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

What we do, step by step

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which usually takes the best part of a day. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s generally ready the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. There’s no area surcharge for Ashendon. The price reflects:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The material
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • What kind of damage it is

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking.

Getting a price from pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

FAQs for Ashendon

How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Ashendon?

Resurfacing from £350. Every job gets a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item and your postcode.

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Does re-enamelling smell?

Yes, while we are applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.

How do I book?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Choosing a repair company

When we’d advise against a repair

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
  • Holes rusted through the metal
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
