About our bath re-enamelling in Ashill
We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, once the bath has been cleaned, repaired and prepared. We work on Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and cast iron baths, and common reasons people get in touch are stains that won’t shift and a peeling or bubbling previous coating.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Why repair rather than replace?
A refit takes several trades and several days. Re-enamelling takes one technician and generally one day, with the bath ready the day after. Prices start from £350. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

What we can’t put right
Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- A bath that’s rusted through
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
- Pressed steel baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
Can I fix it myself?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
Looking after it afterwards
Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:
- Never use suction bath mats
- Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs immediately
- Repair dripping taps early
- Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.
Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time, and each one adds to the preparation. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Ashill. The price reflects:
- The material and finish
- How many items we do on one visit
- The type of damage
- How easy the damage is to reach
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Send pictures for a quote
You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:
- Where you are, by postcode
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- A picture taken from further back
- What it’s made of, if you know
For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
The process
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a full day. If anything looks different from your photos, we will talk to you before going ahead.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the following day.
Before we arrive
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Point us to the nearest place to park

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Ashill
Does re-enamelling smell?
Yes, while we’re applying the finish. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
How quickly can you book me in?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.
Can you make a coloured bath white?
Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.
Can pets and children be at home?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.
