- A metal bath with a through crack
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath

Bath re-enamelling in Bedlington, done in place
We resurface cast iron, steel and acrylic baths, including roll-tops and period baths. The finish is sprayed on in several coats over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. Our repair technicians work on cast iron baths, acrylic baths and basins & shower trays, and common reasons people contact us are worn patches where water runs and sits and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off.
Every repair is covered by our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Northumberland.

Can I fix it myself?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
Looking after it afterwards
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
- Get any chip repaired quickly
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
Dry the bath after use if possible, especially in hard water areas, and rinse away any product left on the surface.
Do not try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface.
Questions from Bedlington
Do you hold any accreditations?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.
Do you need to take the bath out?
No. We resurface it in place, so the tiles and taps stay put.
Will there be a smell?
There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.
What does bath re-enamelling cost?
Prices start from £350. Every job gets a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item and your postcode.
What information do you need?
A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.

For landlords and businesses
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Rust around the waste is common on steel, so we check it carefully.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Why repair rather than replace?
If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is typically much cheaper than replacing it, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s also far quicker. Prices start from £350. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

Advice
What we’re called out for in Bedlington
In hard water areas, limescale and the cleaning it needs wear enamel faster, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.
If you can see any of these, send us a picture:
- A roll-top that’s seen better days
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- An old resurfacing that’s failing
What to look for in a quote
- What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
- If travel is included in the price
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
