Bath Re-enamelling in Bickenhill
Fixed-price bath re-enamelling in Bickenhill and the surrounding area, done in a single visit in most cases.

- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring

Bath re-enamelling in Bickenhill, done in place
Many of the baths we re-enamel are period roll-tops, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Doing them in place keeps an original feature. We work on basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and acrylic baths, and common reasons people get in touch are staining under the taps and around the waste and a coloured bath you want in white.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we will come back.

Bickenhill questions
What areas do you cover?
We cover the entire UK, including Bickenhill and the rest of Solihull. Just include your postcode and we’ll confirm dates.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Yes, we frequently do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.
Does re-enamelling smell?
A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.
Do you cover Bickenhill?
Yes, we do. We send a technician to Bickenhill for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Do you hold any accreditations?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Can you quote from pictures?
Typically, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
How do I book?
Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Bickenhill?
Enamel’s shine is only skin deep, and every scrub with an abrasive cleaner takes a little away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- Lots of chips and rust spots
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
- Thin, worn enamel in places
Questions to ask before you book
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- Whether the price covers travel
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- How soon you can use it again
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed price from pictures. These are the things that affect it:
- What kind of damage it is
- What the surface is made of
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Doing more than one item at once
We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Bickenhill. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
How to get a fixed price
Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- Any details about the material
- Natural light rather than flash
- Details of any past repairs
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
To get a price, send two or three pictures through our quote form or ring us. We’ll say right away whether it can be repaired.
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing the bath means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the walls and tiles and several days without a working bathroom. Re-enamelling renews the whole surface without moving it. Prices start from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

What your bath is made of matters
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
The process
When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes a full day. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- We key the bath and apply a bonding primer.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure until the following day.
How to prepare
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Open a window if you can
Get a quote
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
Advice
What a repair can’t fix
It helps to know what we can’t do too:
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

How to care for the repair
How the surface is treated afterwards matters:
- Never use suction bath mats
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
- Get any chip repaired quickly
Stick to mild, non-abrasive cleaners, don’t use suction bath mats, and keep bottles and razors off the surface.
Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further.
