How we handle bath re-enamelling in Bilbrook
Most baths are re-enamelled in a day, with the bath ready to use the following day. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. We regularly repair basins & shower trays, Victorian roll-tops and pressed steel baths, and common reasons people get in touch are stains that won’t shift and an old resurfacing that’s failing.
You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back.

What we do, step by step
Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a full day. If anything looks different from your photos, we will talk to you before going ahead.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear the area around the damage
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Have a window or extractor fan available

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Bilbrook
Will it make a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
Do you work in Bilbrook?
Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Bilbrook. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
How long does re-enamelling last?
A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.
Which areas do you work in?
Everywhere in the UK, Bilbrook included. Travel is included in the price.
Can you do the outside of a roll-top?
Yes. Inside and out.
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.
Are there extra charges for Bilbrook?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Can you quote from pictures?
Nearly always. If pictures do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.
What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Can I fix it myself?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

When a repair isn’t the answer
We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- Steel that has corroded right through
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
Materials we repair

What affects the price in Bilbrook
Resurfacing from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Bilbrook. What changes the price is:
- Access to the area
- The size and number of damaged areas
- How hard the colour is to match
- What kind of damage it is
A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.
Getting a price from photos
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:
- Natural light rather than flash
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- The material, if you know it
You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
Should you replace it?
A replacement frequently means several trades over several days. Resurfacing takes one technician and generally a day. Prices start from £350. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to look after the repair
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Never use suction bath mats
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
