Bath Re-enamelling in Bowcombe
Our repair technicians come to Bowcombe for full bath re-enamelling and resurfacing. Nothing is taken out, and the work is guaranteed.
- Resurfacing from £350
- A coating lifting around the plughole
- Lots of chips and rust spots

Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
How we handle bath re-enamelling in Bowcombe
After cleaning, repairing and priming, we spray on the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, so we don’t cut corners on it. Whether it’s a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off, we can normally put it right, whatever the material.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Repair or replace: which is better?
Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: they’re heavy, often need breaking up, and a new one isn’t cheap. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Prices start from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Why us?
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
- One-year guarantee on every repair
- Fixed prices from your photos
- Same prices wherever you are

Should I try a DIY kit first?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
Bowcombe: your questions answered
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
Will the bath be moved?
No, it stays where it is. Everything is done in your bathroom, with the room protected and ventilated.
Is there a smell?
Some odour is normal while we spray, which is why we ventilate the bathroom. It fades as the coating cures.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Most of the time. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.
Will there be a smell?
There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.
Do you cover Bowcombe?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Bowcombe and the rest of Isle of Wight. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
How long is the bath unusable?
Most baths are done in a day, ready the day after. We’ll confirm timings when we quote.

Aftercare tips
To keep it looking its best:
- Never use suction bath mats
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:
- The material
- How many items we do on one visit
- How much damage there is
- What kind of damage it is
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.
Quotes from your photos
Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Natural light rather than flash
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
Upload pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your PO30 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, then carry out the work, which normally takes most of the day. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.
Getting ready for the visit
