Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. There is no charge for travel to Brigstock. The price depends on:
- The material and finish
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Doing more than one item at once
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Getting a price from pictures
You can typically get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Details of any past repairs
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

- A metal bath with a through crack
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)

DIY kit or professional repair?
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
Repair or replace in Brigstock?
Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: they’re heavy, often need breaking up, and a new one isn’t cheap. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Brigstock: your questions answered
How long will the bath be out of use?
Usually a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Does the bath have to be removed?
No, it stays where it is. We work on the bath in place, with the room masked and ventilated.
Will there be fumes?
A little, during the work. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.
Can landlords book you?
Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Can you quote from pictures?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.
Can you re-enamel a roll-top bath?
Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. The inside is resurfaced, and we can refinish the outside as well.
What we are called out for in Brigstock
Previous coatings can fail too, peeling around the waste or bubbling. We strip what’s failing and start again.
The things customers normally mention when they call include:
- An old resurfacing that’s failing
- Brown or grey marks that do not clean off
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- A bath that stays dull however much you clean it
Before you book anyone
- How long it needs to cure
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
What your bath is made of matters
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
How the visit works
We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes most of the day. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to care for it.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- Primer and finish coats are applied.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Let us know about parking or access
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
Ask for a price
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Looking after it afterwards
So the finish stays in good condition for years:
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
Treat the new finish gently at first: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
