About our bath re-enamelling in Brixton

When a bath is structurally fine but worn out on the surface, resurfacing is normally the best value. There’s no removal, plumbing or tiling involved. We’re frequently asked to fix a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and a coloured bath you want in white, on basins & shower trays, pressed steel baths and cast iron baths.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll sort it.

How the visit works

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to most of the day.

  1. First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
  2. Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
  3. The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
  4. We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
  5. We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Getting a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Landlord and trade work in Brixton

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Brixton use us as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

Should you replace it?

A replacement often means several trades over several days. Resurfacing takes one technician and generally a day. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Why book with us

  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Brixton?

Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, lifting by the plughole or blistering. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • Stains that won’t shift
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • An old resurfacing that is failing

What to look for in a quote

  • Who will actually do the work
  • If travel is included in the price
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • How the colour is matched

How to compare quotes

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. You will know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Quotes from your photos

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures through our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Looking after it afterwards

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Wash away dyes and oils after use
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away

Dry the bath after use if possible, especially in hard water areas, and rinse away any product left on the surface.

The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Acting earlier keeps the preparation simpler.

What a repair cannot fix

We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • A bath split right through the body

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Cast iron baths

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Brixton and the rest of Devon. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Brixton?

Prices start from £350. Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item with your PL8 postcode.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

What happens if you find more damage?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work. It fades as everything cures.

Is it safe with children and pets around?
