Bath re-enamelling near Burley

Bath re-enamelling at your home in Burley

We re-enamel plenty of period and roll-top baths, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. We’re frequently asked to fix a bath in a colour that no longer suits and enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough, across cast iron baths, pressed steel baths and Victorian roll-tops.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

When we would advise against a repair

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • Plumbing leaks, which need a plumber
  • A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. There is no charge for travel to Burley. The price comes down to:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How hard the colour is to match

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed price

When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Work for landlords and builders

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Burley use us as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it usually costs far less than a refit.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Rutland and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Common problems we fix in Burley

Frequently the bath has just had decades of use, with nothing wrong except the surface. Underneath, a cast iron or steel bath is typically as strong as ever.

  • Wear marks under the taps
  • A period or roll-top bath worth keeping

How it works

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes the best part of a day, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
