About our bath re-enamelling in Chirk
Re-enamelling works especially well on cast iron and steel, and we can resurface acrylic baths as well. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. We regularly repair acrylic baths, Victorian roll-tops and cast iron baths, and common reasons people get in touch are brown or grey marks that don’t clean off and a coloured bath you want in white.
Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Can I fix it myself?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
For landlords and businesses
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Chirk as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Different materials, different repairs
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

What we do, step by step
On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to most of the day, including clearing up.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Everything around the bath is masked and covered.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
Before we arrive
- Clear the area around the damage
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
Getting a price
Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.
Advice
Chirk: your questions answered
What happens next?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.
Can you price it without visiting?
Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
Is there a smell?
Yes, while we’re applying the finish. Ventilation keeps it down, and it fades as the finish cures.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
Will the bath be moved?
No, it stays where it is. We work on the bath in place, with the room masked and ventilated.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
How do I book?
Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole bath and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
What affects the price in Chirk
Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. The main factors are:
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- What the surface is made of
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- What kind of damage it is
A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.
Send pictures for a quote
The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- One picture of the entire bath
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
To get a price, send a couple of photos using our quote form or call us. We will say right away if a repair is the right fix.
Repair or replace: which is better?
A refit takes several trades and several days. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, and the bath can be used the day after. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.
Why us?
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
- No extra charge for your area
- Nothing taken out or refitted

Keeping it looking good
To keep it looking its best:
- Store bottles off the bath
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, because they can mark the finish. Fix dripping taps quickly.
Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.
