Bath re-enamelling in Cluny, done in place
Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. Several coats of finish go on over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. Whether it’s a peeling or bubbling previous coating and several chips and rust patches, we can help.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re not left on your own once we have gone.

What a repair can’t fix
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:
- Anything hidden under an old coating, until we remove it
- Steel that has corroded right through
- A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
The process
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which typically takes the best part of a day. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- Old sealant is cut out and the bath is deep cleaned.
- We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures until the day after.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Have a window or extractor fan available
Ask for a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

DIY kit or professional repair?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
Common questions in Cluny
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.
Are there extra charges for Cluny?
No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Is there a smell?
Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It fades as the coating cures.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before.
Is my repair covered?
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.
Will it make a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Cluny?
Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, peeling around the waste or bubbling. We strip what’s failing and start again.
Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:
- Stains that will not shift
- A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- Chips and rust in more than one place

Why repair rather than replace?
There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you are refitting the whole room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.
How we price bath re-enamelling
Prices start from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:
- What kind of damage it is
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The colour and finish to match
- The material and finish
There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Getting a price from pictures
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Where you are, by postcode
- Any details about the material
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
If you are in Cluny and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
