What a repair can’t fix

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
  • Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Cast iron baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

Bath re-enamelling in Cockyard without replacing anything

Resurfacing renews the entire surface of the bath without taking anything out. It’s the answer when the entire bath is tired rather than one spot. We’re often asked to fix lots of chips and rust spots and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean, across pressed steel baths, cast iron baths and Victorian roll-tops.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Landlord and trade work in Cockyard

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Derbyshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

Repair or replace in Cockyard?

A replacement frequently means several trades over several days. Resurfacing takes one technician and generally a day, with the bath back in use the day after. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why book with us

  • No extra charge for your area
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. There is no area surcharge for Cockyard. What changes the price is:

  • The type of damage
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The material
  • The colour and finish to match

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to get a fixed price

You can usually get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • Any details about the material
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A photo taken from further back
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures through our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a full day, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s generally ready the day after.

How to prepare

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Open a window if you can
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Get a quote

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Acrylic

We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported.

Looking after it afterwards

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface

Dry the bath after use if possible, especially in hard water areas, and rinse away any product left on the surface.

Worn enamel only gets rougher with time, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.

FAQs for Cockyard

How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Cockyard?

Prices start from £350. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?

Yes. We can do the inside and outside.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

How long will the bath be out of use?

Generally one day, with the bath ready the next day. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.

Will there be a smell?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Cockyard.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
