What affects the price in Coltness
Resurfacing from £350. There’s no area surcharge for Coltness. The price reflects:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- How many areas need work
- How easy the damage is to reach
- What kind of damage it is
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Getting a price from pictures
Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- One picture of the entire bath
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- The material, if you know it
If you are in Coltness and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
Bath re-enamelling in Coltness without replacing anything
We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. The preparation is what makes it last, so we don’t cut corners on it. Our technicians work on Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and acrylic baths, and common reasons people contact us are a coloured bath you want in white and an original cast iron bath that needs restoring.
Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Coltness: your questions answered
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.
What does bath re-enamelling cost?
Prices start from £350. We give a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item with your ML2 postcode.
Do you come to Coltness?
We do. Repair technicians travel to Coltness from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.
Do you charge for travel?
There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.
Does someone need to be in?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
In most cases. The old repair comes out first.
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
Usually, yes. We strip the failing coating and resurface it properly. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
What do you need from me?
Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Common problems we fix in Coltness
The gloss on enamel is thin, and every scrub with an abrasive cleaner takes a little away. After years of use, the surface becomes porous and stains easily.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- A coloured bath you want in white
- An old resurfacing that is failing
- An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
- A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
What to look for in a quote
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
- How to care for the finish
- What prep work is covered
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
Why repair rather than replace?
There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you’re refitting the whole room anyway. Otherwise, resurfacing generally wins. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.
Why us?

Should I try a DIY kit first?
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
What your bath is made of matters
Roll-top and period baths
Freestanding roll-tops can be done inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.
What a repair can’t fix
We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
- Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

How to care for the repair
Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:
- Get any chip repaired quickly
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
Dry the bath after use if possible, and rinse away any product left on the surface.
On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.
