How we handle bath re-enamelling in Motherwell
We don’t move the bath, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. Most baths are done in one visit, and can be used again the day after. We are frequently asked to fix a coloured bath you want in white and staining under the taps and around the waste, on pressed steel baths, basins & shower trays and acrylic baths.
Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee in Motherwell and across North Lanarkshire.

How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- The type of damage
- The colour and finish to match
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- How easy the damage is to reach
What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
Send photos for a quote
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:
- Natural light rather than flash
- The material, if you know it
- A picture taken from further back
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Looking after it afterwards
A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:
- Do not let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Store bottles off the bath
- Respect the curing time we give you
Avoid hair dye, bath bombs and oils sitting on the surface, as they can stain. Repair dripping taps promptly.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, don’t pick at it. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
Why repair rather than replace?
For a sound bath, resurfacing costs far less than replacement, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s much quicker too. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Can I fix it myself?
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
Repairs by material
Acrylic
We resurface acrylic baths as well, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Common questions in Motherwell
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Can pets and children be at home?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.
Do I need to be at home?
We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.
Will there be fumes?
There is some smell while the coating is applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the finish cures.
Will there be a smell?
Expect a mild smell while we are working.
Can you change the colour of my bath?
Yes, white is the usual choice. Mention the colour you want when you send photos.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.
