Bath re-enamelling in Coatbridge, done in place
If your bath is sound but looks tired, resurfacing is normally the best value. It avoids removal, plumbing and re-tiling. We are often asked to fix a period or roll-top bath worth keeping and a bath in a colour that no longer suits, in cast iron baths, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we will come back.

Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Wash away dyes and oils after use
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
Dry the bath after use if possible, and rinse away any product left on the surface.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.

What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:
- What kind of damage it is
- How many areas need work
- The colour and finish to match
- The material
Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Getting a price from pictures
Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:
- Where you are, by postcode
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Something in shot to show the size
- A picture taken from further back
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath, we can price the job.
What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, once any rust has been treated. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
When to call us in Coatbridge
The gloss on enamel is thin, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. Eventually the surface turns porous and stains.
Look out for these signs:
- Thin, worn enamel in places
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
- Brown or grey marks that don’t clean off
- Chips and rust in more than one place

- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- Whether they match the colour on site

How it works
You do not need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a full day, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.
How to prepare
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Open a window if you can
- Let us know about parking or access

Email us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Coatbridge, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
Related advice
Why repair rather than replace?
There are times replacing is better: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you’re refitting the entire room anyway. In most other cases, resurfacing is the better choice. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

When a repair is not the answer
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- Steel that has corroded right through
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Basins & shower trays
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Cast iron baths

Coatbridge: your questions answered
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.
Is my repair covered?
All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
Is it messy?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.
How quickly can you book me in?
That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Generally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.
Are you a vetted contractor?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
DIY kit or professional repair?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
