Bath re-enamelling for Cousland homes

Why repair rather than replace?

If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is normally much cheaper than replacing it, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s much quicker too. Prices start from £350. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Why book with us

  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • No extra charge for your area
  • We leave the room as we found it

About our bath re-enamelling in Cousland

The bath stays where it is, so the taps, tiles and plumbing are not touched. It generally takes one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. We’re often asked to fix stains that won’t shift and thin, worn enamel in places, on acrylic baths, pressed steel baths and basins & shower trays.

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Cousland

Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, peeling around the waste or bubbling. We strip what’s failing and start again.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • An old resurfacing that’s failing
  • Wear marks under the taps
  • An outdated colour you’d like to change
  • Several chips and rust patches

Our hiring checklist

DIY repairs versus a professional job

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The material and finish
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

How to get a fixed price

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The material, if you know it
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A picture taken from further back

Most customers in Cousland get their price from photos. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Questions from Cousland

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Usually, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

What do you need from me?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can you change the colour of my bath?

Yes, most people go for white. Tell us what you’d like when you ask for a quote.

Looking after it afterwards

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
  • Get any chip repaired quickly
  • Repair dripping taps early
  • Never use suction bath mats

Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.

Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time, and each one adds to the preparation. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.

What we can’t put right

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • A metal bath with a through crack
  • Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • Problems we can’t see until an old finish comes off

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Cast iron

Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take a full day, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. Several coats of new finish are sprayed on.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s usually ready the day after.

How to prepare

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.
