Bath re-enamelling in Daniel's Water, done in place

Most baths are re-enamelled in a day, with the bath ready to use the following day. Taps, tiles, panels and plumbing all stay in place. We work on Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and pressed steel baths, and the jobs we see most are a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and a peeling or bubbling previous coating.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re covered after the visit.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new bath means a plumber, removing a heavy bath, making good the walls and tiles and several days without a working bathroom. Resurfacing renews the entire surface with the bath left where it is. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why book with us

  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Most jobs done in one visit

See our prices page and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

The process

Visits start with a quick look at the job together. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. You can expect it to take a full day, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
  2. Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
  3. We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
  4. Primer and finish coats are applied.
  5. The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.

How to prepare

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Clear the area around the damage

How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Doing more than one item at once

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed price

You can generally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos using our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Kent and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

What we cannot put right

We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • A cast iron or steel bath that’s cracked right through
  • A poorly supported acrylic bath, until it’s firmed up
  • Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

10 questions to ask before you book

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
