DIY kit or professional repair?
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
Bath re-enamelling in Deepdale without replacing anything
We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, and we take our time over it. We are often asked to fix a period or roll-top bath worth keeping and brown or grey marks that don’t clean off, across pressed steel baths, acrylic baths and Victorian roll-tops.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re not left on your own once we’ve gone.

The process
We agree an arrival time beforehand. Once we are there, the work takes the best part of a day in most cases. We leave the room clean.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new enamel finish in several coats.
- The bath is left to cure and can typically be used the next day.

Advice
What else we do in Deepdale
Repair or replace in Deepdale?
Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: they’re heavy, often need breaking up, and a new one is not cheap. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Work for landlords and builders
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Cumbria and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.
Honest limits
A repair is not right for every job, for example:
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- Steel that has corroded right through
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.
What we work on
- Victorian roll-tops
- Cast iron baths
- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
How to look after the repair
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
The first few days matter most: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
What affects the price in Deepdale
Resurfacing from £350. You will know the full cost before booking. We look at:
- How much damage there is
- What kind of damage it is
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- The colour and finish to match
A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.
Send pictures for a quote
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:
- A picture taken from further back
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Something in shot to show the size
You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
What your bath is made of matters
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.

What does bath re-enamelling cost?
Prices start from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You’ll get a fixed figure before booking.
