Toilet chip repair at your home in Deepdale

Leaking cracks need the toilet replacing, and we’ll say so if we find one. We rebuild the damaged area and match it to the glaze, so the toilet stays in place. We regularly repair cisterns & lids, vitreous china and pedestals, and common reasons people contact us are damage from dropped items and chips on the cistern lid.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do. Avoid dropping heavy items and use non-abrasive cleaners on the outside of the pan and cistern.

What toilet chip repair costs

Prices start from £95. You will know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether we combine several jobs

We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to get a fixed price

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A wider photo showing the whole toilet
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

If you are in Deepdale and want a price, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Common questions in Deepdale

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

Will there be a smell?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help.

What happens after I send pictures?

We come back with a fixed quote. You’re under no obligation.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Do you charge for travel?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Do you come to Deepdale?

We do. Repair technicians travel to Deepdale from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

What we cannot put right

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • A crack that leaks water
  • A crack through the bowl or trap
  • A loose pan or leaking seal (that’s a plumbing job)

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What we work on

  • Pedestals
  • Vitreous china
  • Porcelain
  • Toilet pans
  • Cisterns & lids

The process

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job generally takes an hour or two. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We clean and dry the damaged area.
  2. Next we rebuild the missing piece to its original shape.
  3. It’s sanded flush.
  4. We colour-match and finish the glaze.
  5. Finally we polish it into the surrounding glaze.

How to prepare

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Ensure the area is dry

How to get a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and no obligation.

Advice

For landlords and businesses

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Cumbria and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new toilet needs a plumber and sometimes new flooring around the pan, and a matching cistern may no longer be made. Repairing the chip keeps the toilet you have. Prices start from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Deepdale. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why Deepdale clients choose us

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • Generally one visit, start to finish

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Common problems we fix in Deepdale

Most toilet chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted, or when something heavy is dropped. Cistern lids get chipped surprisingly frequently.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Chips on the pan or rim
  • Pieces knocked off during fitting
  • Marks on the outside of the pan
  • Chips on the cistern lid
