Bath re-enamelling in Dyke without replacing anything
Cast iron, steel, acrylic, roll-top and period baths can all be resurfaced. Several coats of finish go on over a bonding primer, after the bath has been cleaned, repaired and keyed. We are often asked to fix a coating lifting around the plughole and a bath in a colour that no longer suits, in Victorian roll-tops, pressed steel baths and acrylic baths.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after the visit.

When a repair is not the answer
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Steel that has corroded right through
- A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Dyke?
Enamel does not fail overnight. Abrasive cleaners, limescale and years of use wear the gloss away, starting where water runs and sits.
You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
- A peeling or bubbling previous coating
- Chips and rust in more than one place
- Wear marks under the taps
What to look for in a quote
- How the room is protected while they work
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- Who will actually do the work
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
Should I try a DIY kit first?
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
How the visit works
From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes most of the day, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- Several coats of finish are sprayed on, then it cures.
Preparing for the visit
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Get any chip repaired quickly
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.
Repairing versus replacing in Dyke
When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

For landlords and businesses
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
