About our bath re-enamelling in Eastfield Side

We do not move the bath, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. Most baths are done in one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. Typical jobs include chips and rust in more than one place and a coloured bath you want in white, on cast iron baths, Victorian roll-tops and acrylic baths.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we have gone.

Signs you need bath re-enamelling in Eastfield Side

In hard water areas, limescale and the cleaning it needs wear enamel faster, and abrasive cleaners do the most damage.

The things customers typically mention when they call are:

  • Several chips and rust patches
  • A dull, rough surface that won’t come clean
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • Thin, worn enamel in places

For landlords and businesses

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Nottinghamshire and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Why repair rather than replace?

When the bathroom is fine apart from the bath’s finish, re-enamelling is the least disruptive fix. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why book with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

What we can’t put right

We will not take on work that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Basins & shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Cast iron baths
  • Victorian roll-tops

What your bath is made of matters

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.

How it works

You do not need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. It typically takes the best part of a day, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean and degrease the bath and repair any chips or rust.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. The bath is left to cure and can typically be used the day after.

How to prepare

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Open a window if you can
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Questions from Eastfield Side

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

Does re-enamelling smell?

Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the finish cures.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Usually, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

Can tenants book a repair?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

Can a failed resurfacing be redone?

Yes, we do this regularly. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Do the materials smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.

Will the bath be moved?

No. It’s re-enamelled where it stands, so nothing else is disturbed.

Aftercare tips

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Do not leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
  • A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
  • Avoid suction-cup mats
  • Fix dripping taps quickly

Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.

Rust spots on a worn bath get worse with time, and each one adds to the preparation. Resurfacing before they spread keeps it simpler.
