Bath re-enamelling at your home in Edgehead
A re-enamelled bath looks and feels like a new one, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. Common call-outs are for a bath that stays dull however much you clean it and a roll-top that’s seen better days, across cast iron baths, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after the visit.

Can I fix it myself?
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

Edgehead: your questions answered
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
Can you quote from photos?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.
How do I book?
Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire bath and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.
How long does re-enamelling last?
It depends on preparation, use and care. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and our work is guaranteed for a year.
Do you resurface freestanding baths?
Yes, often. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Is the work guaranteed?
All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.
Can you resurface a pink bath in white?
Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.
What we can’t put right
It helps to know what we cannot do too:
- Acrylic that moves when you stand in it
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- Holes rusted through the metal
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
Materials we repair
- Cast iron baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Victorian roll-tops

What else we do in Edgehead
Keeping it looking good
How the surface is treated afterwards matters:
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
- Keep toiletries on a shelf rather than in the bath
- Repair dripping taps early
- Avoid suction-cup mats
The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. From then on, avoid abrasives and suction mats.
Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.
Should you replace it?
Replacing a cast iron bath is a big job: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Resurfacing in place avoids that entirely. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

The process
Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes the best part of a day, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- We degrease the bath, fix any damage and key the surface.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Before we arrive
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Clear the area around the damage
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
For landlords and businesses
For anyone letting property in or around Edgehead, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send pictures for each address and we will come back with a combined price.
We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.
What affects the price in Edgehead
Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. These are the things that affect it:
- The colour and finish to match
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- How many areas need work
- What the surface is made of
We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Edgehead. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Getting a price from pictures
The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- The material, if you know it
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
