Landlords, agents and businesses in Edgiock
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
How we handle bath re-enamelling in Edgiock
We re-enamel plenty of period and roll-top baths, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. We regularly repair acrylic baths, cast iron baths and pressed steel baths, and common reasons people contact us are enamel that’s lost its shine and feels rough and thin, worn enamel in places.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Aftercare tips
Looking after the surface is easy:
- Stick to gentle, non-abrasive cleaners
- A quick wipe after use keeps limescale away
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Never use suction bath mats
Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, particularly where water is hard, so limescale can’t build up.
Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so have it stripped and resurfaced.
Should you replace it?
Replacing a bath usually involves a plumber, a fitter and a tiler. Resurfacing is one technician, normally in a day, and the bath can be used the day after. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

What happens on the day
Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Allow most of the day. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- Once cured, normally by the day after, the bath is ready.
Preparing for the visit
- Open a window if you can
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Let us know which floor the room is on
Getting a price
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.
Related advice
What affects the price in Edgiock
Resurfacing from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- The material and finish
- How many areas need work
We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Edgiock. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Send pictures for a quote
The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- The material, if you know it
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- Something in shot to show the size
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
What we are called out for in Edgiock
Older baths often have several problems at once: dull areas, chips, rust and staining. Resurfacing sorts them out together.
The things customers normally mention when they call include:
- A dull, rough surface that will not come clean
- A roll-top that’s seen better days
- A bath in a colour that no longer suits
- Chips and rust in more than one place
Before booking anyone
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
- What protection goes down before work starts
- When it can be used again
Repairs by material
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel baths take a new finish well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we check it carefully.
Common questions in Edgiock
Do you resurface freestanding baths?
Yes. We can do the inside and outside if you’d like.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.
Do the materials smell?
There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Normally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
You’ll get a fixed quote back, typically with dates to choose from. You are under no obligation.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.
Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?
In most cases. We strip the failing coating and resurface it properly. Mention it when you send pictures.
How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Edgiock?
Resurfacing from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before you book.
What a repair can’t fix
Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- Problems we cannot see until an old finish comes off
- A cast iron or steel bath that is cracked right through
- Holes rusted through the metal
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.
What we work on
- Basins & shower trays
