Bath re-enamelling near Worcester

What happens on the day

Once we’re through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes most of the day, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. We leave it to cure, and it’s usually ready the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How easy the damage is to reach

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

Send photos for a quote

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Email us a picture of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you are in Worcester, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

For landlords and businesses

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

For anyone letting property in or around Worcester, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Store bottles off the bath
  • Do not use the bath until it has fully cured
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
  • Keep suction mats out of the bath

Wait for the curing time we give you before the first bath. After that, a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs.

Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Roll-top and period baths

We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Worcester: your questions answered

What areas do you cover?

The whole UK, including all of Worcestershire. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.

Do you work in Worcester?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Worcester and the rest of Worcestershire. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

How do I get a price for bath re-enamelling in Worcester?

Prices start from £350. We give a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

How soon can you come?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners.

Is there any odour?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

How long does re-enamelling take?

Generally a day, then it’s ready to use the following day. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.

Repair or replace in Worcester?

Getting a cast iron bath out is hard work: it’s very heavy, may need breaking up, and the replacement can be costly. Re-enamelling avoids all of it. Prices start from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
