How we handle bath re-enamelling in Egypt
We clean, repair and prime the bath before spraying the new finish. Most of the work, and most of the durability, is in the preparation, and we take our time over it. Whether it’s an outdated colour you’d like to change and worn patches where water runs and sits, we can generally put it right, on pressed steel baths, Victorian roll-tops and basins & shower trays alike.
Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.

How it works
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes a full day. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.
- We check the bath and agree the finish with you.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- We remove the masking, tidy up and give you the curing time.
Before we arrive
- Open a window if you can
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. You will know the full cost before booking. We take into account:
- What kind of damage it is
- Doing more than one item at once
- The material and finish
- How much damage there is
Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.
Quotes from your pictures
When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Natural light rather than flash
- One picture of the whole bath
- What it’s made of, if you know
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job without visiting.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, and the outside can be refinished too.
Pressed steel
Steel baths re-enamel well, once any rust has been treated. Steel often rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.
Egypt and the surrounding area
Egypt is about 3 miles north of Queensbury, in Bradford. From the centre of Egypt to the outlying streets, we offer exactly the same service: a fixed price, a tidy visit and a guarantee. Egypt is one of 140 towns and villages in Bradford where we work. We work right across the region, from Egypt to Leeds (about 13 miles away).
Jobs in BD13 and BD15 are booked in the same way as anywhere else. That includes homes on Dean Lane, Egypt Road and Lower Heights Road. Other places close to Egypt include Sandy Lane (1 mile north-east), Allerton (1 mile east), Wilsden (1 mile north), Norr (1 mile north) and Harecroft (1 mile north). Within a short drive, we also cover Bradford (4 miles east), Keighley (5 miles north-west), Bingley (4 miles north), Shipley (4 miles north-east), Baildon (5 miles north-east) and Great Horton (3 miles south-east).
Local landmarks in Egypt

Open spaces near Egypt include Idle Hill and Heaton Reservoir Nature Reserve.
DIY kit or professional repair?
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
Landlord and trade work in Egypt
Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
Looking after it afterwards
Looking after the surface is easy, and it makes a real difference:
- Don’t leave a chip unrepaired
- Keep suction mats out of the bath
- Don’t leave bottles, razors or sponges standing on the surface
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.
The longer worn enamel is left, the rougher it gets, and rust spots spread under the surface. Resurfacing sooner means less repair work first.
When we would advise against a repair
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:
- A bath split right through the body
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.
What we work on
- Basins & shower trays
- Pressed steel baths
- Cast iron baths
- Victorian roll-tops
- Acrylic baths
Repair or replace: which is better?
A replacement frequently means several trades over several days. Re-enamelling is one technician, usually one day. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
