Finberry questions

How do I book?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes, most people go for white. Tell us what you’d like when you ask for a quote.

Can tenants book a repair?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Finberry?

Resurfacing from £350. We give a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.

Can you do the outside of a roll-top?

Yes. We can do the inside and outside.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Bath re-enamelling in Finberry without replacing anything

After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, but without the cost and upheaval of a refit. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. If you are dealing with a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean and stains that won’t shift, we can generally put it right, on cast iron baths, acrylic baths and pressed steel baths alike.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Looking after it afterwards

To keep it looking its best:

  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
  • A dripping tap should be fixed promptly
  • Rinse off hair dye, oils and bath bombs straight away
  • Never use suction bath mats

A quick rinse and wipe after use helps, particularly where water is hard, to stop limescale building up.

Leave a peeling coating alone. Water gets under it and the damage spreads, so it’s better to have it stripped and redone.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Repair or replace: which is better?

If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is generally much cheaper than replacing it, when you count removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating. It’s also far quicker. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What bath re-enamelling costs

Resurfacing from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether we combine several jobs

We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Finberry. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath, we can price the job without visiting.

Do you need bath re-enamelling in Finberry?

The gloss on enamel is thin, and abrasive cleaning slowly wears it away. Eventually the surface turns porous and stains.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A peeling or bubbling previous coating
  • Thin, worn enamel in places
  • Staining under the taps and around the waste
  • A roll-top that is seen better days

Before booking anyone

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • When it can be used again
  • Who turns up on the day

Our hiring checklist

How it works

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Plan for a full day from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. We repair chips, rust spots and pitting.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Ask for a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Advice

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, using a system that bonds to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot for the finish to last.

Pressed steel

Steel baths re-enamel well, as long as any rust is dealt with first. Steel frequently rusts by the plughole, so we pay close attention there.
