How we handle bath re-enamelling in Folkestone
Cast iron and steel baths are ideal for re-enamelling, and we can resurface acrylic baths as well. The result is a smooth, even, glossy finish. Our technicians work on Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and cast iron baths, and the jobs we see most are brown or grey marks that don’t clean off and a bath that stays dull however much you clean it.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are not left on your own once we have gone.

Questions from Folkestone
Can you resurface a pink bath in white?
Yes, most people go for white. Mention the colour you want when you send pictures.
Will the price change on the day?
We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.
Can you fix a peeling bath coating?
In most cases. The old coating comes off before we resurface it. Tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
Will there be fumes?
Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the finish cures.
What information do you need?
Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send photos.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Can I fix it myself?
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
Landlord and trade work in Folkestone
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Folkestone use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
If you manage property in Folkestone, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we will price them together.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
Re-enamelling suits cast iron baths perfectly. The body lasts for generations; only the enamel wears, so a new finish makes them look new again.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.
What we cannot put right
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- Steel that has corroded right through
- Damage hidden under a previous coating, until it’s stripped back
- Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.
Materials we work on in Folkestone
- Acrylic baths
- Victorian roll-tops

What we are called out for in Folkestone
A dull surface stains and holds dirt, and cleaning harder only makes it worse. That’s the point where re-enamelling makes sense.
Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:
- Stains that will not shift
- An outdated colour you’d like to change
- A period or roll-top bath worth keeping
- Wear marks under the taps
What to look for in a quote
- Whether they match the colour on site
- What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- Aftercare advice
Repair or replace: which is better?
A refit takes several trades and several days. Re-enamelling takes one technician and normally one day, and the bath can be used the day after. Prices start from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Looking after it afterwards
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
- Dry the bath after use to stop limescale
- Leave the bath for the full curing time before using it
- Repair dripping taps early
The first few days matter most: let it cure fully, then use mild cleaners only. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
Don’t try to scrub a worn bath back to shine. It removes more of the surface and makes resurfacing more work.
What we do, step by step
Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow a full day from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to care for it.
- We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
- The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
- The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- The bath is left to cure and can generally be used the day after.
Before we arrive
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
