Bath re-enamelling in Foundry without replacing anything
We re-enamel plenty of period and roll-top baths, which are heavy, hard to move and costly to replace. Resurfacing them in place keeps the original bath. If you’re dealing with an old resurfacing that’s failing and a dull, rough surface that won’t come clean, we can help.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Foundry and across Cornwall.

Looking after it afterwards
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Store bottles off the bath
- Do not leave a chip unrepaired
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent
- Never use suction bath mats
The first few days matter most: give it the full curing time, then clean it gently. After that, no abrasives and no suction mats.
On a worn bath, rust spots keep spreading. It’s simpler to resurface before they spread.

Foundry questions
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
What happens next?
We look at the photos and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.
How much does bath re-enamelling cost in Foundry?
Prices start from £350. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.
How long does re-enamelling last?
A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.
Is there any odour?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.
Is it messy?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Can you do the outside of a roll-top?
Yes, roll-tops are a big part of our work. We resurface the inside, and the outside can be refinished too.
How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:
- How much damage there is
- Access to the area
- The type of damage
- The material and finish
No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
How to get a fixed quote
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
If you’re in Foundry and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
What happens on the day
When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job usually takes most of the day. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- The bath is left to cure and can generally be used the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
Getting a price
Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Can I fix it myself?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
Should you replace it?
If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is typically much cheaper than replacing it, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s also far quicker. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
