How we handle bath re-enamelling in Rose-an-Grouse

Resurfacing renews the entire surface of the bath without taking anything out. It’s the answer when the entire bath is tired rather than one spot. If you’re dealing with worn patches where water runs and sits and an outdated colour you’d like to change, we can typically put it right, whatever the material.

Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Our hiring checklist

How we price bath re-enamelling

Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

Two or three clear pictures are usually enough. It helps if you send:

  • One picture of the entire bath
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • The material, if you know it
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

To get a price, send two or three photos using our quote form or call us. We’ll say straight away whether it can be repaired.

Landlord and trade work in Rose-an-Grouse

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Cornwall and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Why repair rather than replace?

There are times replacing is better: a cracked-through bath, a change of size or shape, or a full refit. Otherwise, resurfacing normally wins. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

How it works

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job normally takes most of the day. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We mask and protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. The bath is cleaned, degreased and any chips or rust repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and a bonding primer applied.
  4. We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Advice

Aftercare tips

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Keep suction mats out of the bath
  • Respect the curing time we give you
  • Wipe the bath dry after use in hard water areas
  • Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth

Give the finish its full curing time before using the bath. Then, gentle cleaning with a soft cloth is enough.

Avoid scrubbing a dull bath with abrasive cleaners. It just wears the enamel further and makes resurfacing more work.

Questions from Rose-an-Grouse

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

How durable is a resurfaced bath?

A well-prepared finish lasts a long time if it’s looked after. Avoid abrasive cleaners and suction mats.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. If photos do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work. It fades as everything cures.

Can you change the colour of my bath?

Yes, most people go for white. Tell us what you’d like when you ask for a quote.

Does re-enamelling smell?

Some odour is normal while we spray, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the finish cures.

What areas do you cover?

Across the UK, so Rose-an-Grouse is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
