How we handle bath re-enamelling in Gellifelen
We don’t move the bath, so your taps, tiles and plumbing are left alone. Most baths are done in one visit, with the bath ready to use the following day. We regularly repair cast iron baths, basins & shower trays and acrylic baths, and people most often call us about chips and rust in more than one place and wear marks under the taps.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Gellifelen as everywhere else we work.

Your questions about bath re-enamelling in Gellifelen
How durable is a resurfaced bath?
It depends on preparation, use and care. Properly prepared and looked after, it lasts well, and it’s guaranteed for a year.
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
Yes, we do this regularly. Stripping the old coating adds time, so it’s reflected in the quote.
Do you charge for travel?
There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.
When can you do it?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.
Is repairing better than replacing?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
Yes, we frequently do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.
Is my repair covered?
Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
How long is the bath unusable?
Usually one day, with the bath ready the day after. Deeply pitted baths may need a second day.
Do you need bath re-enamelling in Gellifelen?
Previous coatings can fail too, peeling around the waste or bubbling. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.
It’s worth getting a quote if you see:
- An old resurfacing that’s failing
- Stains that will not shift
- Wear marks under the taps
- A roll-top that’s seen better days

What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. The main factors are:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- Doing more than one item at once
- What kind of damage it is
- The material
Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.
How to get a fixed quote
Two or three clear photos are normally enough. It helps if you send:
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Details of any past repairs
- A picture taken from further back
A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
Repairs by material
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
Roll-top and period baths
We can resurface a roll-top inside and out, with the outside refinished as well.

If you manage property in Gellifelen, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we will come back with a combined price.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Should you replace it?
Replacement only makes sense in a few cases: if the bath is cracked through, if you want a different size or shape, or if you’re refitting the entire room anyway. Otherwise, resurfacing usually wins. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Gellifelen. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Why Gellifelen customers choose us
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

What we do, step by step
We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes the best part of a day, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- The room is masked, protected and ventilated.
- Next we degrease the bath and fix chips and rust spots.
- We key the surface and put on a bonding primer.
- We spray several coats of new enamel finish.
- Once cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready.
How to prepare
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

DIY repairs versus a professional job
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
About our accreditations · Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.
