Bath re-enamelling at your home in Gilfach Goch
We re-enamel a lot of period and roll-top baths, which would be difficult and expensive to replace. Doing them in place keeps an original feature. Our technicians work on Victorian roll-tops, cast iron baths and acrylic baths, and people most frequently call us about a roll-top that’s seen better days and a peeling or bubbling previous coating.
You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

What bath re-enamelling costs
Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:
- The size and number of damaged areas
- How easy the damage is to reach
- What kind of damage it is
- The material and finish
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before booking.
Getting a price from photos
You can take the photos on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Something in shot to show the size
- Where you are, by postcode
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
To get a price, send two or three pictures through our quote form or ring us. We will say immediately if a repair is the right fix.
Common questions in Gilfach Goch
Can you change the colour of my bath?
Yes. Coloured baths can be resurfaced in white, and we can do the rest of the suite as well.
Is a repair better than a new one?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Do you do work for letting agents?
We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Do I have to be there?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
How soon can you come?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, with a coating system suited to acrylic. It must be solid and not flex underfoot.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
Keeping it looking good
A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:
- Don’t let dyes or oils sit on the finish
- Do not leave a chip unrepaired
- Avoid suction-cup mats
- Use washing-up liquid and a soft cloth
Rinse the bath and wipe it over after use, especially in hard water areas, so limescale can’t build up.
If a previous coating is starting to peel, don’t pick at it. Moisture gets underneath and makes it worse, so have it stripped and resurfaced.

What else we do in Gilfach Goch
Landlords, agents and businesses in Gilfach Goch
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Gilfach Goch use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it usually costs far less than a refit.
DIY kit or professional repair?
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
Why repair rather than replace?
If the bath is sound, re-enamelling is usually much cheaper than replacing it, once you add removal, plumbing, tiling and decorating to the price of a new bath. It’s much quicker too. Prices start from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

The process
From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes most of the day, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- The bathroom is protected and ventilation set up.
- We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
- Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
- The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
- The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Clear the area around the damage
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
How to get a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
