Bath re-enamelling at your home in Glanwern

After re-enamelling, the bath has a smooth, glossy, new-looking surface, without any of the disruption of replacing it. It’s ideal if you like your bathroom but not the state of the bath. Typical jobs include brown or grey marks that don’t clean off and a coating lifting around the plughole, across Victorian roll-tops, basins & shower trays and cast iron baths.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

What we’re called out for in Glanwern

Sometimes it’s an earlier resurfacing that has failed, peeling around the waste or bubbling. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.

Look out for these signs:

  • A coating lifting around the plughole
  • Lots of chips and rust spots
  • An original cast iron bath that needs restoring
  • Worn patches where water runs and sits

What to look for in a quote

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • How your room will be protected
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

Our hiring checklist

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are the classic candidate for re-enamelling. They’re built to last, and only the surface wears, so resurfacing gives them a new life.

When a repair is not the answer

A repair isn’t right for every job, including:

  • An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
  • Leaks from fittings rather than the bath
  • Steel that has corroded right through

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Materials we work on in Glanwern

  • Cast iron baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Pressed steel baths
  • Victorian roll-tops
  • Basins & shower trays

How we price bath re-enamelling

Prices start from £350. There’s no area surcharge for Glanwern. The price reflects:

  • What the surface is made of
  • How much damage there is
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many items we do on one visit

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Glanwern. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed price

You can take the photos on your phone. Just make sure we can see:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A photo taken from further back

For a price in Glanwern, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Repair or replace: which is better?

If you like your bathroom but not your bath’s surface, resurfacing is the simplest answer. Tiles, panels and taps stay put. Prices start from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.

Glanwern questions

How long will the bath be out of use?

One day for most baths and can be used the day after. We give you timings with the quote.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Is there any odour?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

Do you come to Glanwern?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Glanwern. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it typically saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

Can you resurface a pink bath in white?

Yes. We can resurface a coloured bath in white, and the basin and toilet can be done too.

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Someone resurfaced my bath and it’s peeling. Can you help?

Yes. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.

What we do, step by step

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take most of the day, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We sheet, mask and ventilate the room.
  2. We remove the old silicone and deep clean the bath.
  3. Chips, rust and pitting are repaired.
  4. The surface is keyed and primed for the new finish.
  5. The new finish is sprayed on in several coats and left to cure.
